RC Events: 21st Annual Fly-for-Tots Fly-in; RDRC AMA Airfield

2009 Fly-for-Tots Sponsors RDRC Airfield

2009 Fly-for-Tots Fly-in

The 21st Annual Fly-for-Tots Fly-in will take place at the RDRC Airfield in Youngsville, North Carolina September 16-18, 2011. This RC airplane event attracts hobby pilots and spectators from far and wide to combine their love of flying model planes with raising funds for Victory Junction, a special camp for children with special needs.

The Fly-for-Tots RC event, as readers at RCRodeo.com know, is responsible in part for the birth of the RCRodeo website. It is there where I purchased raffle tickets to help raise funds for Victory Junction that won me my first model airplane. My raffle win — a giant red-and-white Sukhoi airplane — has led to many happy hours spent with my brother ever since. Even though I’ve taken a little break during these 100-degree days this summer, Mike and I will be enjoying many more great times in the future around the RC plane hobby.

The RDRC website has all the details about this year’s Fly-for-Tots RC event, so I’ll include a link to where interested people will find all the current information. RDRC club members are once again selling raffle tickets, which may be purchased from any club member or at their online website.

I highly recommend buying several tickets. Besides helping some of the most special, deserving and dear children around, you may end up winning one of many, many prizes. Who knows — you may even win an RC plane like I did. Who knows what can happen then?
